I am fully certified and insured Equine Sports Massage and Rehabilitation Therapist, having trained in the United Kingdom with Wolds Equine Rehabilitation and Training.
My professional path is deeply rooted in a longstanding connection with horses, as I personally own a small herd, primarily composed of ex-racehorses. My interest in equine rehabilitation initially emerged through my experience with my first Thoroughbred, Dexter. Upon acquiring Dexter, it became apparent that he faced significant physical challenges and exhibited extreme sensitivity to human interaction. Despite receiving advice to abandon the endeavor, I chose to persist. Dexter underwent spinal surgery, followed by professional rehabilitation, a process that profoundly shaped my understanding of equine care. Observing his progress, particularly during massage therapy sessions, inspired me to pursue the ability to provide similar therapeutic benefits myself, as it was evident how relaxed and content he became during treatment.
I commenced my studies with Wolds Equine Rehabilitation and Training in 2020. However, my progress was temporarily disrupted due to the Covid-19 pandemic and my commitments as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner in the United Kingdom. Following this period and a subsequent relocation to the Republic of Ireland with my horses, I was able to resume my studies in earnest.
I am pleased to announce that I am now accepting a limited number of new clients. Based in County Tipperary, I am also willing to consider travel to surrounding areas if there is sufficient demand in a specific location.
I am a fully registered member of both the International Association of Animal Massage and Bodywork (IAAMB), ensuring the highest standards of care and professionalism for my clients.
